'Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counsellors there is safety'

Proverbs 11:14

Welcome to the Holy Family School Council page! We believe in every child having an impact on their own education, we have School Council representatives from Year 2 - 6. We hold regular school council meetings where we discuss what the children think the school are doing well and areas that we think we can improve. Council representatives host a meeting in their classrooms first to gather pupil ideas or suggestions and present the most appropriate at School Council meetings. We look forward to representing you this year!

Robert Buckland visits School Council:

South Swindon MP Robert Buckland visited our School in September to see the School Council pupils’ environmental work.

The school has been looking at what it can do to make positive changes in the local environment as well a taking part in the Beat the Street initiative as part of the Catholic Agency For Overseas Development climate crisis campaign ‘Eyes of the World’.

Pupils developed a video for the national assembly on highlighting the importance of climate change and the different the young people of today can make to secure a brighter future, which Mr Buckland watched.

The MP also took part in a Q&A session with the children about climate change and other local issues, including housing and travel.

The school council delivered a presentation to the former justice secretary about the impact that they as a school can have on looking after the local environment and also led a tour of the school with the Conservative MP.
