Nursery - Bush Babies
We are very proud the Bush Babies is the first Catholic nursery in Swindon and only the 2nd in the Diocese. Holy Family is officially now a 2-11 place of education.
Here you can find weekly photo uploads so you can see all of the wonderful things that the Bush Babies have been up to. You can find out key information, dates and resources so please take time to have a look through the page.
In Bush Babies we follow 'In the moment planning' which means placing the children at the centre of their learning. We completely follow their interests which results in higher engagement and creates learners that are confident, curious, and self-motivated. The role of the teacher/practitioner is to observe what the children are doing, what they need to do/know/learn next and teach in that moment.
This means that the next steps for individual children are not something that is to be delivered at a point in the future, but right there 'in the moment'. Although we are doing this with all the children all of the time your child will have up to three 'focus week' observations a year where all of this learning in recorded. Prior to this week, we will send a sheet home for you to complete. This is your opportunity to tell us what is happening in your child's life at the moment e.g. holidays, new pets, family celebrations and if there is anything you would like to tell us about your child. You may also want to ask us questions which we will reply to.
